I invented/rediscovered two words this week.
One by accident. I was trying to say HISTORY and MYSTERY simultaneously. It sounded like this …HERMYSTERIES. I decided then, that it was a new word. I was in Borders cafe using their bookshop like a library (great way to read books for free…) when my best friend, Shannon Doherty, (not her real name) looked at me quizzically when this word came out of my mouth.. so I quickly explained…
HERMYSTERIES a. refers to Historical Mysteries as a genre. eg. (To Borders staff) “Can you point me in the direction of where the Hermystery section is?” OR, b. usually more specifically, it refers to women’s mysterious history stories, as history tends to be dominated by stories of men (his-story)
sure it’s a little bit.. ohh too feminist and up there with one of those things that causes feminists to get laughed at.. like spelling women with a Y. .. but.. i like it nonetheless. my word. not spelling women with a y.
WORD 2.
The second word I invented to later discover it already was a word… is…
EVITABLE (ant. inevitable) This was a slightly more discussed word. Shannon Doherty and my rock n roll mate, Ozzy Osborne (also, not his real name) debated thus… As inevitable means something that definitely WILL happen, then ipso facto, evitable means something that can be avoided, may or may not happen and may or may not even exist!
If, as my mate Ozzy Osbourne (not his real name) said ” ‘inevitable’ is a curse”, as it puts future events out of control of the hands of the speaker (eg. it’s inevitable that I will get a cold this winter) … then evitable is power. The truth is, it’s EVITABLE whether you will get a cold this winter. It hasnt happened yet and as thought is creative, what you think comes true, then, choose whether you want something to happen or not.
you have nothing to lose, except of course if you tell someone and then are proved wrong.. then you get the INEVITABLE ‘i told you so’ hoo haa…
hmmm…
thought is creative and it is suggested you keep your mind control experiments to yourself…
